Oodles of Noodles
Still trying to find a name of posts like these. Simmons has the best with cowbell and even though he's not using it anymore I'm no copycat. So for now, it's Oodles of Noodles. The chicken ones of course.
HEAT roll last night. All the role players Riley got in the off-season chipped in big last night. Shaq and Wade played an effective 29 and 27 minutes respectfully. No strain, no exhaustion, no worries. Haslem logged the most minutes and had 0 points. How did that happen? Look no further than White Chocolate, Toine', Da Glove and Zo. Each chipped in just enough to go along with Diesel's 14 points, 8 boards (5 offensive) and Wade's 25 points. It was team basketball just like the Pistons blueprint. It's also the way the Mavs play. Deep 9 man rotation.
METS WIN in 16. No team wanted to lose that game. Terrific performance from Ryan Madson who pitched 7 scoreless innings in relief. Beltran takes his high fastball in the 16th and just yanks it 450ft into the night for the win. It was about time. I didn't really think Madson was that overpowering, I figured someone would have ended it a long time ago but in retrospect he located well and executed all three of his pitches. As usual the Phillies own Trachsel who I'm already a little sick of. Maybe it's just he takes to damn long. Mets pen is one of the best in the league and it showed last night with scoreless relief from Sanchez, Wagner, Bradofrd, Feliciano, Julio and Oliver. Heilman hicupped in his relief stint but normally gets out without giving up much. He gets in trouble when he walks people, just like every reliever. The Phillies pen is just a train wreck. Ryan Franklin? Really? Arthur Rhodes has a lifetime era well over 4. Geary is a minor league pitcher and Fultz had been pretty bad lately. Gordon has been good and Cormier can still get lefties out so he gets a pass. But in a big spot against a big lefty...I bet Philly fans hold their breath. Lieber must go deep in tonight game, if Mets get to him early they'll be going for the sweep tomorrow.
CNN has a http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/05/23/mcdonalds.crash.ap/index.html
story of a man running people over in Georgia. Three toddlers and two adults. My question is sick or not, why can't we just execute this person immediately? I propose the blatant law. If you kill someone intentionally, blatanly then you die the next day. No courts, no crazy plea's, no jailtime. Just straight to the room with a needle. Now this in this paticular story the victims did not die but you get my point.
#1 Pick of this year's NBA draft goes to the Raptors. #2 goes to the Bulls which would have been the Knicks pick if not for the 700th stupid trade of Isiah Thomas's career last year. Curry for their number one. The thinking at the time was Curry is better than any other prospect.
Man, that Isiah, a regular Aristotle'.
Drudge Report also has an interesting story.
Ever wonder what happened to Billy Koch?

I wonder what he did to deserve this! Holy mackerel!

That may be the thing that will win the east for the Mets this season (assuming the Braves don't pull their annual "it's time to win the east" routine in the second half of the season) - the better bullpen.
Watch out for the Bulls, it could be a second dynasty a few years down the line.
TPS report is a finalist. I like it. Thanks Hater.
Laf, this draft is terrible. Like 2002 bad, where you just know the best player is going to come from the #10-20 pick area (Stoudamire that year).
As for the Bulls, how long do they get to rebuild? They've had 8 lottery picks in the last 7 years, in addition, they took Artest in '99 one pick after Fifi. One year they even had 6 of the first 34 picks. Are they a well run organization? Because I think most GM's given 8 lottery picks would be able to construct a .500 team like the Bulls. Except Isiah.
This was definitely not a good year to get a high draft pick. All of the top talent is hit or miss. I wouldn't want to be the one who makes the wrong choice.
I think it should be between Oodles of Noodles and TPS Report. I personally lean to OOdles of Noodles. Now I think I need one of those names for a random blogging theme in mine.
And I will speak for all Phillies fans. When it comes to our bullpen, we are spending the entire season with our collective breath held. Sometimes, the bullpen can actually be good, and that is the problem. We don't know what we are going to get, unless it's Tom Gordon who has been the rock.
Sales of Alka Seltzer will double in the Philly area this year.
