SUNRISE

Did anyone look at the Suns roster lately? They hold a one game lead over the Clippers in the semifinals of the Western Conference playoffs. This is their starting five.

C- Boris Diaw- Really a forward Diaw is a versatile forward who can penetrate and pass like a guard. He also has the ability to shoot and finish drives in traffic.
He averaged 13.3 PPG, 6.9 RPG while shooting 52% from the field. His playing time increased this year once Kurt (Crazy Eye) Thomas went down with an injury to his hoof. He was cast-off to Phoenix from Atlanta who gave up on him a bit too early.

F- Shawn Marion- Don't have to say much here. Him and Nash are the constant. Vicious finisher, good defender, solid rebounder and very active around the rim.

F- James Jones- An Indiana cast-off who starts but only sees about 20 minutes a game. That's due to the emergence of Captain Barbosa, the Brazilian Baller. But still Jones has made some big shots and the Suns trust him in a big spot.

SG- Raja Bell- All of the sudden he's the defensive stopper. Maybe I don't get to see too many Utah games but when he was there I didn't remember him as that type. He also contributes on the offensive end kicking in 14.7 ppg.

PG- Steve Nash- Obviously, the heart and soul. Does he really make mediocre players seen better? Looks that way.

The Bench- Tim Thomas came way of the Knicks, via Chicago deal for Eddy Curry. Skiles couldn't find any minutes for him so they shipped him to a contender and boy has that worked out for Phoenix. He saved their ass in Game 5 and has poured in about 15PPG. Shooting at a 46% clip from beyond the arc to boot.
Leandro Barbosa aka Captain Barbosa has been phenomenal. When Nash rests, the team does not miss a beat. He may parlay his role into a major FA signing some time down the road.

That's it. These Suns never tire. Call them the Strongman Suns. A seven man rotation can't possibly work for too much longer. Or can it? All I have to say is that I am impressed and D'Antoni is a fine coach. They will give fits to either Texas team in the next round. Because they will BEAT LA, Again.
